Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 807m. Bbl. 23 1/2". Standard K98k sights with hooded front. Bolt parts are mismatched but other visible numbered parts are matching to receiver. Receiver ring has Steyr 660 code & 1940 date. Blued finish. Matching numbered laminated stock set with cupped buttplate that was likely depot retrofitted, left side sling provisions & leather sling. Right side of butt has partially faded 623 inspection stamps & eagle "H" Heer stamp. Underside of wrist has two illegible eagle inspection stamps. Cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: arr4 coded RG34 cleaning kit. CONDITION: stock set shows a thin handguard crack, a couple other cracks to rear right of receiver, scattered dings, handling marks & scratches. Metal retains 40% original blue with overall fading to gray, edge wear, light oxidation & handling marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered frosting & light pitting but strong rifling. (26-940/MJC). CURIO. $800-1,200.
